唐山钢铁集团有限责任公司（简称唐钢集团）地处中国河北北部，总部位于河北省唐山市。依燕山，临渤海，接京津，享有得天独厚的资源条件和区位、交通优势。2005年以唐钢为核心，联合宣钢、承钢整合组建而成。2005年末，资产总额581亿元，在册职工总数93569人，产钢1607万吨，位居中国第二位。在中企协近日公布的企业排行榜上，排名2006全国企业500强第43位，全国制造业500强第16位，黑色冶金及压延加工企业第4位。
唐钢集团下属的三个企业都是我国建厂较早的大型骨干钢铁企业。唐钢始建于1943年，被誉为"转炉的故乡"，也是国内最早将连铸工艺成功应用于大工业生产的企业之一。改革开放后，唐钢不断加快发展步伐，跻身全国十大钢行列。宣钢创建于1919年，计划经济时期是国家定点生铁供应基地，同时为冶金行业培养输送了大批矿山开采和生铁冶炼专业技术人才。市场经济条件下，宣钢在逆境中崛起并获得较快发展，成为国家重点钢铁企业之一。承钢是1954年国家建设的156个重点项目之一，一直致力于钒钛磁铁矿资源的开发利用和相关科研成果的产业化进程，是中国钒钛磁铁矿高炉冶炼技术的发祥地和北方最大的含钒钢生产基地。
唐钢集团落实科学发展观，坚持低成本和品种开发战略，深化挖潜增效，在市场激烈竞争中保持了生产经营的稳定。2005年生铁完成1466万吨，转炉钢完成1608万吨，钢材完成1482万吨，分别占全国铁、钢、材生产总量的4.4％、4.6％和4％，钒产品产量接近全国总产量的1/3；集团实现营业收入617亿元，其中销售收入491亿元，实现利税50.23亿元，实现利润21.42亿元。
唐钢集团不断优化工艺技术结构，特别是"九五""十五"期间，生产工序逐步配套，装备水平显著提高。主要设备中一半以上达到国内或国际先进水平。主要高炉、转炉和轧机基本实现了现代化、大型化，其中高速线材轧机、棒材轧机、超薄热带生产线、冷轧及产品深加工生产线均从国外引进。
唐钢集团重视培养自主创新能力。首创了我国钒钛磁铁矿综合开发一整套技术，包括钒钛磁铁矿高炉冶炼技术，顶底侧转炉复吹提钒技术，从钒渣中提取五氧化二钒技术，钒渣直接合金化技术，含钒钛螺纹钢筋轧制技术，采用钒微合金化工艺及连铸-连轧生产技术等；相继完成高线、棒材、连铸工艺优化等多项科研成果；开发了焊接用钢、硬线钢、抽油杆钢、冷镦钢、圆环链钢等一批高技术含量产品；实现了高炉煤粉喷吹、转炉铁水预处理和炉外精练、连铸坯热装热送、螺纹钢筋负公差轧制；煤气、蒸汽、废水、废渣等排放物基本实现了回收处理，余压、余热得到再利用，取得了可观的经济效益和社会效益。

The Introduction of Tangshan Iron & Steel Group Co. Ltd
Tangshan Iron & Steel Group Co. Ltd. (TISCO) is in the north of HeBei Province. The headquarters is located in Tangshan City. As it is surrounded by Yanshan mountain ranges and Bohai Sea, TISCO enjoys abundant natural resources and its position gives it advantages of convinent communications. Tangshan is very close to Beijing and Tianjian, two of the most important cities and markets of China. In 2005, Tangshan Iron & Steel Co. Ltd carried out a restructuring project. Together with Xuanhua Iron & Steel and Chengde Iron & Steel, three steel producers formed Tangshan iron & Steel Group Co. Ltd. By the end of 2005, the gross assets reached 58.1 billion RMB, the number of recorded employees is 93569. Its rank issued by China enterprises association recently, rises to the position of 43th among China’s Top 500 enterprises, 16th in Top 500 Manufacturer, 4th in the black metallurgical industry.
The three sub-companies of TISCO are all famous and large scale backbone enterprises. Tangshan Iron & Steel Stock Limited was founded in 1943, the cradle of converter Steel making. It is also one of those enterprises used continuous casting process successfully. After 1949, Tangshan iron & Steel Stock Limited fastened the steps of development and rushed into the ranks of the first ten metallurgical enterprises. Xuanhua Iron & Steel was established in 1919. It was an important supplier of pig-iron during planned economic era. Meanwhile, Xuanhua Iron & Steel trained a large number of people for Chinese metallurgical industries, such as mine exploitation and iron-making. Facing the market economy, Xuanhua Iron & Steel develops even faster, although it has a lot of difficulties. Chengde Iron & Steel was one of the 156 important projects in 1954. It has always devoted to the development of using Vanadium-Titanium magnetite ore and its related R&D activities. It is the cradle of V-Titanium magnetite smelting technology of China and the biggest V-metal production base in northern China.
TISCO fulfills scientific developments, and is always trying to cut the cost of production to maintain the profits and keeps the production stable in the competitive market. In 2005, the production of hot-metal was 14.66 million tons, cradle steel 16.08 million tons, strip products 14.82 million tons, which in turn take the ratio of 4.4％、4.6% and 4％ in Chinese total production. It has almost 1/3 of V-Titanium production in the whole country. TISCO achieved the turnover of 61.7 billion RMB, included: sales incomes 49.1 billion RMB, gross profit 5.023 billion RMB, net profit 2.142 billion RMB.
TISCO optimizes the production processes continuously. Especially in the 9th and 10th “five-year-plan” period, TISCO optimizes production processes and improves the standard of equipments greatly. More than 50% of main equipments have reached the advanced standard both domestically and internationally. The main blast furnace equipments、converter and rolling mills have been modernized and enlarged. Some equipments and production lines are using foreign technologies, such as the high speed wire rolling mill, the bar rolling mill, the lines of ultra-thin hot rolling strip line and the cold rolling strip plant.
TISCO focuses on the ability of innovation. TISCO initiated several comprehensive Vanadium technologies, including: BF V-Ti iron-making, Converter V-extraction technology, V2O5 extraction from residue, V-Ti ribbon bar rolling, V-micro alloy and continuous casting and rolling. TISCO optimized the wire technology, and developed a series of high technology products (steel, wire、bar、chain, realized pulverized coal-injection 、hot-iron pre-treating、refining slab hot charge and transfer、minus-tolerance、ribbon-bar rolling, recycled gas, steam, waste water and slag. Pressure and heat-recovery，which makes remarkable social and economic benefits.
At present, the main products of TISOC include: rod, wire, section steel, hot and cold rolling strip products, galvanized plate, color coated plate, welding pipe, V2O5, vanadium alloy, etc. They are almost covering the whole spectrum of steel products to meet the market’s demand. TISCO keeps the belief of “high quality products”, “customers are the first” and its enterprise moral is based on honest. It cherishes the good reputation of its products and services. All of its steel products got the ISO9001 and the quality management system certification 2000. Many products have titles of good quality products of the province and the state. Ribbed bar-grade ∏, supporting steel for mining, quenched bar is regarded as the high quality product of the state. It is marked as China’s famous product of wire rods. U-shape steel wins the Golden Prize of Metallurgical products of China. We are the only producer of 25U and 26U in the domestic market. The specification and quality of Ultra-thin Hot Strip Products lead advanced level in China. Ribbon wire rod、hot rolling strip、welding pipe produced by Xuanhua are remarked as “The Famous Product of Hebei Province”. Ribbon wire rod has got the Golden Prize of Metallurgical Product Quality of China and the certification of “Quality Freed from Inspection”. Ribbon Bar produced by Chengde obtains “Stable quality and Standard Product” state prize and “the Golden Prize of Metallurgical Products” of China. The product of V2O5 has successfully entered more than 10 countries and areas. It wins “the Diamond Stars of International Quality fair”. Products of TISCO have been selected by many projects, such as Beijing East Quarter, Beijing China Theatre, Shanghai East Mingzhu Television Tower, three-gorge dam on Yangtze River, Nuclear Power Plant, 2008 Olympics Master Gymnasiums, new China Centre Television site and so on. TISCO has made remarkable contribution to the development of Chinese society.
Facing the heart beating competition of expansion to broader space for development, TISCO establishes standardized modern enterprise systems; it organizes company management systems of home and sub-companies which are based on property rights. “Tangshan Iron & Steel Stock Limited Company” and “Xinxin Vanadium/Titanium” are listed in stock exchanges，their stocks have very good performances because of their business achievements and reputations. TISCO emphases on good management and innovations: the flat parallel management of the group. Integrate the management of the steel sector, and use different ranks to fortify the quality control. The development of TISCO takes advantage of its strategic position. The location of Tangshan is very close to four major harbors of northern China. Chende is very rich in the V-Titanium magnetite resources。TISCO will take the opportunity of development and marches towards the aim of “leading position in domestic market, and first-class producer in the world steel industry”. By the end of the 11th five-year- plan, the capacity of TISCO will reach 30 million tons, and become the biggest production base of the V2O5 powder. We will take the lead in the domestic plate and construction material market. The target of 2010 is to become one of the world top 500 companies.
